Until a certain moment. After setting up a modest PPC ad on Google with the last bits of money I still had in the account, I paid for an ad that brought the first order. Coincidence? Probably yes. But then another one came. And another. And another... I’d probably be bold if I wrote what exactly caught the attention of our Monkey Mum customers, but one thing is certain. The calm before the storm, accompanied by the sympathetic expressions of my acquaintances and friends, along the lines of - yeah, I’ve tried an e-shop too, it was a waste of time - the world began to open up before our bare, clean eyes. Everything I had learned so far, the jobs I had worked, and the experience I gained during all my previous attempts to “get a business going” were probably gathered into some giant bubble that burst. It’s probably a bit of a dream, but I have to brag. Within a few weeks, Monkey Mum became an e-shop that makes money!
 
The smile on my face quickly disappeared, though, when all the necessary supplies ran out and we found ourselves on the brink of the question - investor, loan, bank, chance, selling a kidney (Lída’s husband’s idea), etc. Orders are pouring in, interest is huge, and yet starting from scratch with nothing on maternity leave is not the easiest or happiest beginning. But the road straight up leads to hell, doesn’t it? :) I believe Monkey Mum will soon find its way in the market and move forward, and we’ll be able to look forward to How an e-shop is made III, where I’ll share our next successes and plans so that everyone who wants to create something can see that everything costs something. Especially on maternity leave :D
