Monkey Mum® Flip Bed Rail - Unboxed

First, it is necessary to measure the inner bed frame. This dimension is decisive because the guard rails are inserted into the inner frame and are held in place by the mattress. Thanks to an accurate measurement, you will choose the correct guard rail size.

Warning:
The package contains 1 guard rail. If you need guard rails on more than one side of the bed, choose the corresponding number of pieces and the lengths of the individual sides.

USE

These barriers are lightweight, sturdy, breathable, and available in various lengths with a load capacity of up to 20 kg, ideal for the transition from a crib or co-sleeping. Flip models must be attached to the bed – they are drilled/screwed directly into the bed frameto ensure maximum stability and safety.

INSTALLATION

You can easily assemble the barrier according to the instructions. After assembly, place it on the bed slats (or another flat surface) and, to ensure maximum stability, screw/drill it directly into the slats.

How does FLIP differ from the SHORT model?

If you're deciding between these two models, both offer excellent protection, but each is suited to a different type of bed and different needs:

• Folding method and space: FLIP and SHORT both fold outward in the same 180° arc, and no side panels remain above the mattress when folded down. The only difference is in the construction and size of the barriers.
• Dimensions and bed coverage: The FLIP model is available in lengths 150, 180 and 200 cm, which cover a larger portion of the bed, while the SHORT model has a fixed length 102 cm and serves as practical spot protection.
• Installation method: For maximum stability, the FLIP model is screwed to the bed slats of a framed bed, while the SHORT model is installed completely without drilling using only safety straps, which is ideal for box spring and frameless beds.
• Mattress height: The FLIP model is ideal for mattresses with a thickness of 15–25 cm, while the SHORT model can handle very high mattresses up to 30 cm.
• Suitability for bed type:
  The FLIP model is designed for framed beds with slats, where its folding function can be fully used. The SHORT model is suitable for most box spring and frameless beds. It can also be placed in framed beds, but in that case it cannot be folded down. However, this is usually not a problem because the barrier is short and the child can easily walk around it. 

Notice: The FLIP model cannot be combined with other types of barriers (Premium, Popular, Short, etc.). For proper folding function, there must be enough free space next to the bed.
