Charity - child sponsorship

Thanks to you, our customers, we managed to save enough for the girl Diya’s school fee for this year on April 25, 2021. Thank you so much! :-) 

From every order that Monkey Mum receives, we "set aside" 10 CZK into the little savings box for a girl named Diya. And who is Diya?

Diya is an Indian girl who attends the 6th grade of primary school. It has already been 6 years since I adopted Diya remotely. She likes to draw, play sports, and go to school. Her parents adopted her when she was still little, even though they themselves do not have enough money for everyday life.

The reason I did it is probably quite obvious. Because we have everything, even when we think we have nothing :) I felt that the money from my part-time jobs and work while studying could perhaps be better used if I helped someone. I didn’t need everything I thought I absolutely needed.

And so I found a charity, in the charity a girl with a very lovely name and profile, and started supporting her. While studying, which is not a given in India. So it has already been 6 years since I sent Diya 5,000 CZK every year so she could go to school. In return, she and her family write me beautiful letters every year expressing their gratitude, and I in turn get an amazing feeling that thanks to me, one person in the world is a little happier. I won’t change the world by doing that, but I can change one life. :)

Believe me, it wasn’t always easy. There were years when I would have rather sent those 5,000 somewhere else. Times when I had barely enough to eat while studying. But I always, always sent Diya the contribution, because she needed it more than I did.

The worst was probably last year. In 2020, when I decided to put all my savings into buying our great bed rails and simply try whether there would be demand for them or not. Everything I had saved was suddenly gone, and my husband and I, along with the Covid crisis, were struggling a little with paying the mortgage and other expenses too. And so I decided that sometimes a person doesn’t have to manage things alone. They just don’t. I founded a company that is doing well, and I’m very happy about that. At last I’m not alone in something, because I have my colleagues and you — our customers.

I don’t have to help only Diya; I can also help other people, animals, places... we can do whatever we want, because we won’t be doing it alone.

And so the HELPING section continues. Since 1.3.2021, we add 10 CZK from every order to Diya’s savings box (here is the charity confirmation). At the same time, every customer will be able to add another 10, 20, or 50 CZK with their order. And once we fill Diya’s box to 5,000 CZK, we’ll find another "victim".

There will always be someone we can help, and I will be more than happy if I no longer have to do it alone!
