International Day of Charity

On September 5, it is International Charity Day. You have surely noticed that our philosophy is not only natural motherhood, but also helping others. On our e-shop you can contribute regularly. During our existence, several fundraising campaigns have already taken place. Let’s take a little look back at them.

The first was the Indian girl Diya, whom our CEO Lucka has been supporting for several years. She regularly contributes to her studies. After the launch of Monkey MumⓇ, all of you helped save CZK 5,000. If you are interested in Diya’s story, you can read about it HERE.

Next was little Matyášek, who was born with spinal muscular atrophy type I. Spinal muscular atrophy is a genetically determined disease that affects the peripheral motor nerve (the so-called motor neuron), which is located in the spinal cord. The disease causes damage to the muscle, which manifests itself as weakness and, in the later stages of the disease, also a loss of muscle mass, i.e. so-called muscle atrophies.
The first symptoms appear already in early infancy, at the latest by the 6th month. Money was needed for his treatment and rehabilitation. They managed to raise 15,000. 

Adults sometimes need help too. The mother of beautiful twins Kateřina suffered a stroke shortly after giving birth, her condition was very serious, she had to undergo surgery, and now she is paralyzed on one side of her body and is learning everything from the beginning — to speak, walk, but above all to understand. Care for the children therefore remained with their father. They mainly needed finances for treatment, home modifications, but also for the care of the babies. Together we contributed CZK 15,100 to them.  

Tomášek needed help in creating his “study room” and preparing for preschool. His mother is a single parent and Tomášek has a rather complicated diagnosis - childhood autism, moderate intellectual disability, behavioral disorders, speech disorders, self-harm, attention disorders, and ADHD. You sent them a lovely 15,530. 

The war in Ukraine affected all of us. A wave of solidarity flooded the whole Czech Republic, and we are no exception. CZK 15,000 was sent from our monkey family. 

Most recently, we organized a fundraiser for Jarda. Jarda is a young man who became paralyzed after an accident, with both his legs and arms affected, and his condition requires round-the-clock care, which he cannot afford on a disability pension. "After the accident I was left completely paralyzed and helpless in a wheelchair. My own life situation is so bad that after paying the bills I hardly even have enough for food. A disability pension of CZK 4,892 is not even enough to cover the most basic living needs." A lovely CZK 26,130 was raised.

We are currently running a fundraiser for Kristýnka. Kristýnka is a 6-year-old girl diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and you can learn more about her HERE.
